D'Tour at D'House (Digi) - Part I
I got an invitation by Digi for D'Tour at D'House (Digi's HQ). It means i get to see the ppl behind FB and Twitter, get to explore their office which is well known for environmental friendly, and of course to get some freebies. How i got the invitation? By randomly answering some questions about their rewards at facebook page. The event started at 11am-5pm...quite long eh? It is! But the good thing was i don't feel bored that i wanted to walk out from the event.
And one more fact is that their office is in Shah Alam. Lagik lah nak pegi sbb dekat hehe. I was informed to car pool because that's one of their policy. Me and Cheep bedua kira car pool lah jugak tuh kan. So when we arrived we proceed to the main entrance, registered ourselves and we got these passes.
My first impression when i stepped in the Studio was 'wah nice and colorful!'. All the seats are not the boring type i always see at my company. Saw most of the participants were already making themselves comfortable and hyped. The other cool thing spotted was 'free wifi' huhu!
They served breakfast kuih, coffee and tea. Sambil makan, dorang bagi soklan like who is digi's staff with twitter ID xxx. To answer, we were supposed to ask around. So aku dengan tak malunyer tanya the digi staff yang diri dekat2 ngan kitowang hehe. So sorang tuh, James angkat tangan and admit it was his ID. So dengan senang hati i went to the stage (tayah jonah2 nak berebut jawab), answered the question and got myself a black umbrella. rezeki rezeki :)
And then there were some slides presentation by 3 cool Digi presenters who talked about ppl behind the FB and twitter, digi's achievement and promotion. Saw the slide disclaimer '(not really) confidential' lol! After all that, tetiba dorang suruh gather with other participants ikot sticker at tag. Kene separate lah plak because my sticker was green and cheep's was pink. So sesi icebreaking started.
The first group's task was to perform at the stage based on the instruction. My group had to sing and we chose MJ's Thriller because most of everybody know MJ's steps. Siap pasang lagu Thriller lagik haha mubsi ada mp3 in their laptop. And i opted to stand behind. Malu occay dahler tak reti dance.
Cheep's group plak had to act. So dorang blakon movie Titanic version Digi. And guess who was the hero, Cheep kene blakon jadik Jack. lol! The dialog went something like this lah "Oh my phone takde coverage. I feel like i want to jump" terbwahahaha! The next task was Digi gave us a list of questions and we were to answer it via Facebook. Time nih lah masing2 (mostly) kuarkan blackberry and iPhone to browse for asnwers. And the team leader punyer facebook wall jadik mangsa spam.
The 'energetic' performance made us really hungry. The organizer quickly ushered us outside where the lunch was served. The first view when we entered this area. Nice kan??
And the caterer was Bubba Gump! Awesome ehhh! Some tables had the famous bucket with 'Run Forrest Run/ Stop Forrest Stop' sign which added the feel. Cheep cracked a joke time tgh tunggu, since the event is called D'Tour at D'House, sib baik lah caterer bukan D'Saji hahaha!
Queuing for our turn. Aper exact menu dia i can't remember but i know there were pasta, 2 types of roasted chicken, garden salad, nachos & salsa and garlic bread.
Since Digi is environmentally conscious, they restricted the use of foamed polystyrene. That is why Bubba Gump provide plates :)
My lunch. Salad came later because dorang lambat replenish. Hohhh pueh makan ngan crouton nyer skalik! And then dessert was sponsored by New Zealand ice cream. Macam2 flavour! om nom nom nom.
